Desh Bhagat Global School celbrates Baisakhi

Desh Bhagat Global School celebrated Baisakhi with full zest and zeal. Students of all the classes participated in this function. Special assembly was held to inspire the students for the Service of Humanity and to make them all aware of their cultural background. Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh presided over the function.

The School Principal Mrs. Nidhi Singhi explained to the students the importance of Baisakhi in the Sikh history. She said that we celebrate Baisakhi because it was the day of creation of the Khalsa Panth (community of the pure) by Sri Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth and last human Sikh Guru in 1699, at Keshgarh Sahib in Ananadpur Sahib.
After this an interesting cultural function was oraganised. The House In-charges organised a Quiz Competition related to this function and the students. After this the boys presented Punjabi folk dance Bhangra followed by Giddha  performed by the school girls. Everybody enjoyed a lot. In the end, the melodious, rhythmic sounds of girls filled the environment with sweetness and charm when they sang “O Jatta ayi Baisakhi….Faslaan di mukk gayi rakhi….O Jatta ayi Baisakhi.”
